Lt. Gen. Alfredo Rosario, Jr., Commander of the Western Mindanao Command, made his farewell visit to three army brigades based in the Lanao provinces on September 5, 2022.
Before his impending retirement, Lt. Gen. Rosario, Jr. will make his final circuit in all the joint task forces, brigades, and OPCON units under the WestMinCom’s joint area of operation. He began his tour by visiting the 103rd Infantry Brigade based in Kampo Ranao, Marawi City, Lanao del Sur on Monday morning.
Lt. Gen. Rosario, Jr. was received by 103Bde Commander, Brig. Gen. Jose Maria Cuerpo II and Deputy Brigade Commander, Col. Bill Dela Rosa. The WestMinCom Commander spearheaded the awarding of medals and commendations to deserving officers and personnel of the brigade.
The three-star general then proceeded to the headquarters of the 2nd Mechanized Infantry Brigade located in Iligan City, Lanao del Norte. He was received by 2MechBde Commander, Brig. Gen. Rey Alemania and Deputy Brigade Commander, Col. Charlemagne Batayola, Jr.
Lt. Gen. Rosario, Jr. also checked on the status of the officers and soldiers of the 55th Engineer Brigade based on Barangay Maria Cristina, Balo-I, Lanao del Norte. He was welcomed by 55EBde Commander, Brig. Gen. Irineo Sebastian and his staff.
During his respective talks with the troops of the three brigades mentioned, Lt. Gen. Rosario, Jr. urged the soldiers to maintain the same zeal as the Armed Forces of the Philippines’ Western Mindanao Command continuously work toward the attainment of lasting peace and sustainable development in Mindanao. He also imparted to them his mantra: “In everything you do, always remember the 5Ps, Plan, Prepare, Perform, Play, and Pray. You will surely succeed if you keep these 5Ps in your mind.”
In his farewell visit to the army brigades in the Lanao provinces, Lt. Gen. Rosario, Jr. was accompanied by his Triad Staff, namely: Col. Wendell Basat, Assistant Chief of Unified Command Staff for Civil-Military Operations; Col. Jessie Montoya, Assistant Chief of Unified Command Staff for Operations; and Col. Yasser Bara, Assistant Chief of Unified Command Staff for Intelligence. Lt. Gen. Rosario, Jr. will bow out from the military service and avail of his mandatory retirement come October 2022.
