Lt. Gen. Alfredo Rosario, Jr., Commander of the Western Mindanao Command, paid a courtesy visit to Zamboanga Sibugay Governor Dulce Ann Hofer at the Provincial Capitol in Ipil town on Tuesday afternoon, September 6, 2022.

Lt. Gen. Rosario, Jr. thanked Governor Hofer for the support extended to the military units based in Zamboanga Sibugay Province and to the Western Mindanao Command as a whole. Governor Hofer lauded the WestMinCom Commander for his excellent leadership. She also commended the efforts of the armed forces in sustaining peace in the province.

Governor Hofer and Lt. Gen. Rosario, Jr. also discussed areas of cooperation, especially in the delivery of basic services to the people. They both agreed to continue and strengthen the good relationship between the military and the local government.

During his trip to the Province of Zamboanga Sibugay, Lt. Gen. Rosario, Jr. also took time to make his farewell visit to the troops of the 102nd Infantry Brigade based in Sanito, Ipil. He was received by Brig. Gen. Leonel Nicolas, the brigade commander, and Col. Eddie Pilapil, the deputy brigade commander.

In his message, Lt. Gen. Rosario, Jr. expressed his gratitude to the troops for their dedication and outstanding performance during his stint as the WestMinCom commander. He commended them for their resolve to end terrorism in the province which resulted in the dismantling of guerrilla fronts of the communist terrorist group and the declaration of Zamboanga Sibugay as insurgency-free.

Brig. Gen. Antonio Nafarrete, Commander of the Joint Task Force ZamPeLan; Brig. Gen. Dennis Estrella, Commander of the Tactical Operations Wing Western Mindanao; Col. Jessie Montoya, Assistant Chief of Unified Command Staff for Operations, WestMinCom; Col. Wendell Basat, Assistant Chief of Unified Command Staff for Civil-Military Operations, WestMinCom; and Col. Yasser Bara, Assistant Chief of Unified Command Staff for Intelligence joined Lt. Gen. Rosario, Jr. in his engagement with the troops and the provincial governor of Zamboanga Sibugay.

Meanwhile, prior to his trip to Zamboanga Sibugay, Lt. Gen. Rosario, Jr. made his farewell visit to the 54th Engineer Brigade based in Cabatangan, this city early morning, same day. He was received by Brig. Gen. Fajilagutan, the brigade commander, and Col. Maximino Almuete, Jr., the deputy brigade commander.

Lt. Gen. Rosario, Jr. expressed words of appreciation and gratitude to the army engineers and troops for their unwavering support to WestMinCom which greatly contributed to the accomplishment of the overall mission of the command.

The conduct of farewell visits to the units under his command and control is the final mission of Lt. Gen. Rosario, Jr. before he officially bows out of the military service as he reaches the mandatory retirement age of 56 next month.
