The Western Mindanao Command spearheaded the conduct of training and workshop on Republic Act 6713 otherwise known as Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees. The training was held at the command’s conference room located at Camp Navarro, Calarian, this city on Friday, September 9.
45 civilian human resources of the command actively participated in the training and workshop facilitated by the Office of the Assistant Chief of Unified Command Staff for Personnel led by Commander Edwin Ello and the College of Public Administration and Development Studies of the Western Mindanao State University (CPADS, WMSU). Professors Bernard Suriaga and Emerissa Jane Tendero of CPADS, WMSU were the subject matter experts who imparted their knowledge regarding the topic.
Professor Suriaga emphasized that government employees must at all times be accountable to the people and shall discharge their duties with utmost responsibility, integrity, competence, and loyalty, act with patriotism and justice, lead modest lives, and uphold public interest over personal interest.
In his remarks, WestMinCom’s Chief of Unified Command Staff, Col. Elmer Suderio said that the objective of this learning intervention is to promote a higher standard of ethics to civilian human resources in public service, thus, becoming more principled and professional in carrying out their duties and responsibilities.
Lt. Gen. Alfredo Rosario, Jr., Commander of Western Mindanao Command said that the WestMinCom continues to live by the standards set by the constitution and the military organization to maintain the good image of the command and the AFP as a whole and to contribute to the fulfillment of the AFP’s vision of becoming world-class armed forces, source of national pride.
