The Western Mindanao Command held the 3rd quarter campaign and command conference on September 21, 2022. WestMinCom Commander Lt. Gen. Alfredo Rosario, Jr. presided over the conference held at the command headquarters at Camp Navarro, Calarian, this city.
Present during the activity were: Naval Forces Western Mindanao Commander Rear Admiral Toribio Adaci, Jr.; Joint Task Force Central Commander Maj. Gen. Roy Galido; Joint Task Force Sulu Commander Maj. Gen. Ignatius Patrimonio; WestMinCom Deputy Commander for External Defense Operations Brig. Gen. Arturo Rojas; Joint Task Force Basilan Commander Brig. Gen. Domingo Gobway; Joint Task Force ZamPeLan Commander Brig. Gen. Antonio Nafarrete; Joint Task Force Tawi-Tawi Commander Brig. Gen. Romeo Racadio; Tactical Operations Wing Western Mindanao Commander Brig. Gen. Dennis Estrella; Joint Task Force Zamboanga Commander Col. Randolph Rojas; Chief of Unified Command Staff Col. Elmer Suderio; and the Unified Command Staff. Also present were the commanders of all the brigades and battalions under the operational command and control of WestMinCom.
Highlights of the activity were the presentation of the threat situation and significant accomplishments of the command and the open forum where the participants had the opportunity to exchange brilliant ideas.
For his guidance, Lt. Gen. Rosario, Jr. enjoined the participants to remain steadfast and committed to serving the people. “Let us continue to collaborate with various stakeholders in pursuing our common aspiration of peace and progress,” he said.
The Western Mindanao Command, through all of its joint task forces, has significantly gained ground and sustained the momentum during the stint of Lt. Gen. Rosario, Jr. For this year alone, a total of 532 local terrorists were neutralized 223 of which were Abu Sayyaf Group members, 131 were from the Daulah Islamiyah, and 178 were from the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters. Troops also neutralized a total of 22 Communist Terrorist Group remnants in the Zamboanga Peninsula and Lanao Provinces and 120 CTG personalities in the central part of Mindanao.
