His Excellency Robert John Noble, the Australian Ambassador for Counter-Terrorism visited the Western Mindanao Command on Monday, September 26, 2022. WestMinCom Commander Lt. Gen. Alfredo Rosario, Jr. received the distinguished visitor at the Laong Laan Hall located at the unit’s admin building at Camp Navarro, Calarian, this city 5:30 p.m., same day.
According to Ambassador Noble, the purposes of his visit are to discuss Australia’s defense engagement, determine areas of cooperation, and develop a better understanding of the security situation in Zamboanga City and the Province of Basilan vis-à-vis Australia’s development programs and activities in the area.
Lt. Gen. Rosario, Jr. briefed the Ambassador with updates on the security campaigns of the command. The WestMinCom Commander also expressed his gratitude to the Ambassador for taking the time to visit the command and strengthen the good relationship between the two countries.
Australia has established a good relationship with and has been a long-time ally of the Philippines. The relationship between the two countries is robust and enduring.
In his visit to the command, Ambassador Noble was accompanied by Defense Attache Col. Paul Barta, Office of the Ambassador for CT Assistant Director Ms. Renee Mcgregor, and his staff.
