Lt. Gen. Alfredo Rosario, Jr., Commander of the Western Mindanao Command, made his farewell visit to Basilan on September 27, 2022. Brig. Gen. Domingo Gobway, Commander of Joint Task Forces Basilan, received the WestMinCom Commander during his arrival at the 101st Infantry Brigade headquarters in Barangay Tabiawan, Isabela City, Basilan.
“Congratulations on all the significant milestones you have achieved. You have gone far and have even exceeded expectations in your peace efforts here in Basilan,” Lt. Gen. Rosario, Jr. addressed the troops during his Talk to the Troops.
Lt. Gen. Rosario, Jr. also lauded the commitment of the soldiers to sustain the harmony among peace-inclined groups. He urged them to remain steadfast in conducting interrelated operations, in collaboration with the local government and the people of Basilan, that include combat, civil-military, and intelligence to counter violent extremism and curb lawless activities. He also encouraged them to maintain the same zeal and always follow the 5Ps (Plan, Prepare, Perform, Play, and Pray).
The WestMinCom Commander also paid his exit call to Basilan Governor Hadjiman Jim Hataman-Salliman at the Provincial Capitol. The two exchanged words of appreciation and commendation.
WestMinCom's Assistant Chief of Unified Command Staff for Operations, Col. Jessie Montoya; Assistant Chief of Unified Command Staff for Civil-Military Operations, Col. Wendell Basat; and Deputy Chief of Unified Command Staff for Intelligence, Maj. Jonas Mendoza accompanied Lt. Gen. Rosario, Jr. during his farewell visit to Basilan.
