Lt. Gen. Alfredo Rosario, Jr., Commander of the Western Mindanao Command, graced the celebration of the 26th founding anniversary of the Naval Forces Western Mindanao in Zamboanga City on September 28, 2022. It was also his farewell visit to the naval component of WestMinCom.
In his message, the WestMinCom chief said: “I bid the officers, enlisted personnel, and civilian human resources of the NFWM my warmest felicitation as you mark the 26th year of the unit’s existence. As we stand on the very grounds of this naval command, we look back on the milestones that you have achieved and tasks you have accomplished.”
The anniversary celebration was held at the NFWM Headquarters at Naval Station Romulo Espaldon, Bagong Calarian, this city. Highlight of the activity was the presentation of awards to deserving officers, enlisted personnel, and civilian human resources of the unit. It was officiated by Lt. Gen. Rosario, Jr. and Naval Forces Western Mindanao Commander, Rear Admiral Toribio Adaci, Jr.
While giving his message, Lt. Gen. Rosario, Jr. took the opportunity to express his gratitude to the sailors and marines of NFWM led by Rear Admiral Adaci, Jr. for their unwavering support to WestMinCom during his stint as the commander of WestMinCom. He also lauded the navy and marine units for their remarkable accomplishments that paved the way for peace and development in their respective area of operation.

Wendell Basat; Assistant Chief of Unified Command Staff for Intelligence, Col. Yasser Bara; Assistant Chief of Unified Command Staff for Personnel, Cdr. Edwin Ello; and the commander’s wife, Mrs. Lorna Rosario.
