Soldiers encounter communist terrorists in Sultan Kudarat
 
Camp Navarro, Calarian, Zamboanga City – September 25, 2022
 
An armed confrontation ensued between operating troops of the Joint Task Force Central and the Communist Terrorist Group at Sitio Cocoon, Barangay Salumping, Esperanza, Sultan Kudarat on Friday afternoon, September 23, 2022.
 
The enemy withdrew shortly after the engagement leaving behind one hand grenade, two rifle grenades, and two magazines with 5.56mm live ammunition. 
 
Based on the report from the ground, military troops from the 57th Infantry Battalion were conducting intensified operations in the area when they encountered more or less 15 CTG members. The government side incurred zero casualties while the casualties on the enemy side are yet to be determined. Operating troops also discovered numerous blood stains at the encounter site. 
 
Adjacent troops established blockades to restrict the movement of the fleeing terrorists. 
 
Lt. Gen. Alfredo Rosario, Jr., Commander of Western Mindanao Command commended the troops of Joint Task Force Central for their untiring dedication to their sworn duties. He also encouraged the troops to press on until the ultimate goal is attained.
