Brig. Gen. Venus Bajarin, The Chief Nurse of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, visited the Western Mindanao Command on October 27, 2022, purposely to pay a courtesy call to the unit’s Acting Commander, Brig. Gen. Arturo Rojas.
The officers and enlisted personnel of the command accorded Foyer Honors to the distinguished visitor during her arrival at Camp Navarro, Calarian, this city at 9:00 in the morning Thursday. Brig. Gen. Rojas, together with the Unified Command Staff, received the distinguished visitor at the Laong Laan Hall of the command.
The WestMincom Acting Commander expressed his appreciation to the civilian and military nurses represented by Brig. Gen. Bajarin. “They are our heroes because they are the ones who provide nursing care to us and our dependents, most especially to soldiers who get wounded during combat operations,” Brig. Gen. Rojas said.
The Chief Nurse said that the Nurse Corps remains steadfast in providing responsive and innovative healthcare to the armed forces and their dependents.
Brig. Gen. Bajarin is the first female general from the Province of Kalinga. She is the 26th Chief Nurse of the AFP.
During her visit to the command, Brig. Gen. Bajarin took time to visit Camp Navarro General Hospital to check on the status of the facility and boost the morale of the hospital staff.
